Biography - Jimmy Vitale

Jimmy Vitale has owned and operated several successful restaurants in the Rockford area over the past 37 years. After returning from managing at the World Famous Grand Hotel Mackinac Island, Jimmy opened his first restaurant, Jungle Jim’s Oyster Bar, in 1975, which became a wildly popular eatery in the Rockford area for many years. After several other successful restaurant and lodging ventures, Jimmy opened Stone Eagle Tavern in Rockford, in 2009 and it immediately became a local hot spot with its wide-ranging, affordable menu and unique décor featuring Architectural Antiques. In October 2012, Jimmy opened his second Stone Eagle location in Hoffman Estates.  Jimmy hopes to bring his secret of success to a new suburban market using a tried and true formula of offering fair play and great food at a reasonable price with friendly, respectful quality service.
